A gentle exfoliating scrub is an effective treatment for dry, chapped lips. The exfoliant helps remove dead cells, while the moisturizing ingredients make your lips plump and smooth. Industrial scrubs are sometimes unreasonably expensive, but at home and from natural ingredients, you can make several options for soft, fragrant, useful and not expensive scrubs yourself. Location: Location:
Sugar scrub.
Sugar is a natural exfoliant that will help remove dead skin cells from your lips. Sugar scrub is very easy to make. In a small bowl, combine warm olive oil and a spoonful of granulated sugar. Apply the mixture to lips, rubbing in sugar lightly to remove dry flakes. Rinse off with warm water and immediately apply a moisturizing balm to keep your lips from drying out.
Sugar and salt scrub
For this recipe, you need to take one spoon of sea salt, the same amount of granulated sugar and mix with one spoon of vegetable fat. Avocado oil, shea butter, and coconut oil work well. Apply the scrub, massage your lips and rinse off the sugar-salt paste with warm water. Apply moisturizing oil to your lips.
Honey scrub.
Heat a teaspoon of honey to body temperature, add a tablespoon of baking soda and the same amount of olive oil to it. Apply the scrub gently to your lips and leave it on for a few minutes. Run your lip over your lip, “chew” them and then rinse with warm water. On still wet lips, apply a special balm or just the same olive oil.
Grapefruit scrub
Squeeze out fifteen drops of fresh grapefruit juice and mix with white or brown granulated sugar. Take a soft toothbrush, dip it into the scrub, and start applying the mixture to your lips in a circular motion. Leave the scrub on your lips for a few minutes and remove with a soft, clean, damp cloth.
Coffee scrub.
Coarse coffee is the same natural exfoliant as sugar, but softer. You can mix it with any vegetable oil of your choice and apply in the same way as all previous scrubs.
Scrub lipstick
With a little more time, money, and effort, you can make yourself a delicious chapstick scrub with granulated sugar. To do this, you need 1 tablespoon of cocoa butter, jojoba or shea butter, 4 tablespoons of beeswax, 1 tablespoon of wheat germ oil, a few drops of your favorite essential oil, and a teaspoon of brown sugar. Melt hard oils and wax in a water bath, let cool slightly and add liquid oils and sugar. Stir and pour into empty lipstick cartridges, refrigerate. Now you will always have a delightful scrub lipstick at your fingertips, with your favorite scent.
Don't overuse exfoliants. Using a scrub too often can reverse the effect and get sore and chapped lips instead of tender, well-groomed, firm and smooth lips. You don't need to scrub more than once or twice a week. If you are going to make a large portion of the scrub, remember that home cosmetics, due to the absence of preservatives, have a very short shelf life and will live in your refrigerator for no longer than two weeks.
