The therapeutic effect of paraffin is based on its ability to evenly warm the deep layers of the skin, and thereby improve blood supply in them. But in order to carry out paraffin therapy at home and get a good result, you should study all the features of this procedure. Location: Location: Paraffin therapy is carried out in the form of applications, baths and masks. Each of these methods of paraffin treatment has its own subtleties, the observance of which guarantees a positive result. The only thing that remains unchanged is the way the paraffin is melted - in a water bath or in a special bath.

If you do not have a paraffin bath, place a small pot of chopped paraffin wax in another pot of water. To prevent them from touching the bottom, place a wooden plank between them. Bring the paraffin wax to 100 ° C over low heat. It will take about 1 hour. Remove the paraffin pot without opening the lids, let it cool to 50-55 ° C (60-65 ° C), then apply a thin layer with a flat wide brush on the skin.

For the treatment of chronic inflammatory processes of internal organs or joints, as well as for muscle pain, use paraffin applications. With this method of paraffin therapy, apply each subsequent layer at intervals of 10-15 seconds until its thickness reaches 1-2 cm. After applying the last layer, cover the application with waxed paper or oilcloth and wrap it with a scarf or woolen cloth. Remove after 40-60 minutes. Repeat twice a week or every other day with a course of 20 procedures.

For facial rejuvenation, use paraffin masks. By improving the blood supply, they smooth out fine wrinkles, dissolve acne scars and eliminate skin irregularities. Before applying paraffin, wipe oily skin with an alcohol solution, and lubricate dry skin with a thin layer of any vegetable oil. After that, apply the first layer of paraffin at a temperature of 50-55 ° C and the next two at 60-65 ° C, then cover the paraffin mask with oilcloth with slots for the eyes, nose and mouth. Put cotton wool on top of it and fix it with a bandage. After 15-20 minutes, remove the paraffin with a spatula, wipe the face with lotion and apply a moisturizer. Repeat this procedure 1-2 times a week.

Be sure to include paraffin baths in your hand and foot care. They make the skin soft and smooth. Use the same paraffin therapy method to warm up the extremities, for example, for a cold. Before immersing your hands or feet in hot paraffin wax, treat them with alcohol lotion or wash them with soap. After that, to create a protective layer, immerse them in paraffin at a temperature of 50-55 ° C and only then in a previously prepared and filled with hotter paraffin (60-65 ° C) oilcloth bag in the form of a mitten or boot. Tie it up and wrap it with a wool scarf.

For a cosmetic effect, immerse your hands and feet several times in the molten paraffin bath until a thick glove (2 cm) is formed. Put on oilcloth, and then terry mittens (boots) and leave for 30 minutes. After removing the paraffin, lubricate the skin with a moisturizer and do not expose it to temperature extremes for 30-40 minutes.

Do not apply paraffin wax to the skin around the eyes, nostrils, and mouth, or to areas of skin affected by acne, eczema, scratches or cuts. Do not administer paraffin therapy for hypertension, malignant and benign neoplasms, fever, and decreased blood clotting.
