Ayurvedic massage affects the deepest layers of soft tissues, i.e. in addition to the skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles and internal organs are also developed, tension is removed and blood circulation is stimulated, which leads to the active elimination of toxic substances from the body. In addition, the elasticity of the skin increases, the work of all vital human systems is normalized - the respiratory, digestive, nervous, reproductive, musculoskeletal.

This massage is based on the movement of hands in a very complex "pattern" using pressure, stroking and deep probing with both fingers and palm.

A prerequisite is a circular change in the position of the person being massaged. The circle begins with a sitting position, then lying on your back, on your side, on your stomach, on the other side, again lying on your back and sitting. The head is massaged in a circular motion, and the straight parts of the body are massaged longitudinally, and the number of their repetitions should be the same for each side. The massage is carried out from top to bottom, i.e. from the top of the head to the tips of the toes.

There are several types of Ayurvedic massage:

Traditional (Abhyanga) massage is performed simultaneously by two massage therapists who make soft synchronized movements. It lasts about an hour and promotes deep relaxation of all muscles. Oils and medicinal herbs are used, as well as their various combinations. If the massage is carried out with additional effort on the part of the masseur, then it is called Vishesh and is perfect for relieving pain in joints and muscles.

Massage that allows you to lose weight (Udwardana) is performed using a paste or powder made from medicinal herbs that have fat-burning properties. The paste is rubbed into the skin with deep synchronous movements, which also helps to remove excess fluid and toxic substances.

Foot massage with oil (Padabhyanga) is based on the effect of rubbed oil on special reflexogenic points called marmas. According to Ayurvedic teachings, each point is responsible for a specific part of the body, therefore, with the help of Padabhyanga, any disease can be cured or prevented.

Garshana or massage performed with silk coarse gloves is based on static electricity, which is generated by rubbing silk against skin. Its main purpose is to increase skin tone and elasticity, and its rejuvenation.

Ayurvedic massage can also be performed using a hot bag containing rice water or medicinal herbs. It is called Pindasvedana.
