Video: ❶ Heavy Makeup: From The Catwalk To Everyday Life
The image created to show models of clothes on the catwalk is undoubtedly a work of art and the result of painstaking, many hours of work of professionals. The result is a reference picture, a fairy tale, a part of which I just want to transfer to the gray days. Maybe not worth it? Location: Location:
Heavy makeup is undoubtedly necessary for stage work and for photo shoots, but in everyday life and in daylight it may not look quite adequate. Why?
First, the model on the podium (and her facial features) must be clearly visible from a distance of several meters. Like an artist's sketch, where attention is focused on the main details. Accordingly, the task of the makeup artist is to highlight and visually enlarge the eyes and lips or one thing, depending on the image being created.
Secondly, the foundation for such makeup is thicker than usual for everyday purposes. Her task is to create not a natural look, but the most even tone and stay on the skin for several hours continuously, withstanding all the tests associated with a very quick change of outfits.
Third, the base should be darker than the skin tone, because spotlights often make even the most tanned model look painfully pale. The same applies to shades of shadows, blush, lipstick - they should be richer than shades for evening makeup, otherwise the stage light will play the same cruel joke with them as with the tonal foundation.
Now imagine a picture that someone came to work in the office wearing such a “theatrical mask” painted on his face, even if by the best make-up artist in the city. Undoubtedly, this "war paint" will be the topic of the day and, most likely, the reason for the very explicit proposals from the opposite sex. Therefore, all experiments with heavy makeup are best left for going to nightclubs, the theater, or for a party with friends. Or for work on stage, where such makeup is simply irreplaceable. After all, stage make-up is a theatrical mask that helps the actor to enter the right state to reveal the image. The main thing is to study in advance what exactly each individual image says to the surrounding world, in order to always be correctly understood.
