Video: ❶ Lingonberry Is A Useful Berry Of Coniferous Forests
Recently I walked past a market where grandmothers sell gifts, so to speak, of nature. Understandably, there are rows of pickled cucumbers, pickled tomatoes, salads, jam, cranberries, slightly lined with frost and lingonberries. I ran past. And I would have run for sure if my grandmother, who sells lingonberries, had not called out, buy, they say, dear … Actually, why should I take her? What kind of berry is this, I heard about it, but I didn't have to try it … Oh, in vain, I probably asked … Or maybe not. My grandmother gave me a whole lecture about the benefits of berries and what to do with it. Well, do not waste valuable information, so I urgently share my knowledge about lingonberries with the readers of the women's site JustLady. Location: Location:
As befits grandmothers, first they told me a beautiful legend. Long ago, swallows were very friendly with people. People took good care of the birds and no one was allowed to offend them. And then one day, one of the swallows found a spring with the water of eternal life. She decided to give water to people and took a few drops into her beak. But this source was guarded by evil wasps so that no one could carry away the magic water. Seeing that the swallow carries water in its beak, the wasps chased after it and began to sting. The swallow was unable to keep water in its beak, and precious drops fell on pine, cedar and lingonberry. And that's why they are forever green. True, people never got the living water.
As it turned out, lingonberry grows in coniferous and deciduous forests in swamps. Moreover, in the most disastrous, peat areas it is most of all. Lingonberries were always collected in Russia. Even before the arrival of the Mongols and Christianity. Lingonberry is a storehouse of vitamins: A, B, C and E, as well as iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, manganese and calcium, pectins, tannins, carotene, therefore it is very important to use it in winter. By the way, sauerkraut with lingonberries is not only beautiful and tasty, but also very healthy.
If we talk about the use for medicinal purposes, it is better to use lingonberry leaves. They contain tannins, tannin, and various acids. In Russian folk medicine, a lot has been said about lingonberries. It has been and continues to be used to treat fever, dysentery, gastritis, salt deposits, jaundice, stomach tumors, diabetes, rheumatism, hypertension, tuberculosis and neurasthenia. In addition, lingonberry leaves have proven themselves as a wound-healing and tonic agent. In addition, it is an excellent antiseptic that even successfully fights trichomoniasis. For diabetes, it is recommended to use fresh berries - you need to eat 200-300 grams per day.
Surprisingly, lingonberry leaves are harvested after the snow melts, before they release their buds. A decoction of lingonberry leaves is prepared as follows: 2 tablespoons of lingonberry leaves are chopped, poured into an enamel bowl and poured with a glass of boiling water. After that, the boiled lingonberries are placed in a water bath and heated for 30 minutes. Remove from the water bath and let it brew for another 10 minutes. Strain. Dilute the resulting broth with a glass of boiled water.
The broth is used for enuresis, diluting it with a decoction of St. John's wort. For typhus, when a decoction of lingonberry leaves is prepared, blueberries are added. A decoction of lingonberry leaves is used as a tonic and pain reliever for measles, malaria, acute respiratory viral infections, diabetes.
For arthritis, rheumatism and kidney stones, it is recommended to use an infusion of lingonberry leaves. Finely chop 100 g of lingonberry leaf, add two and a half liters of boiling water, cook over low heat for 2 hours, drain. Cool and add a glass of vodka to the broth. Once again put on low heat or a water bath and simmer for 15 minutes. Attention! You cannot bring the resulting infusion to a boil! Treatment is carried out for six months, taking half a glass 3 times a day before meals. An improvement in the condition is noted after a sediment appears in the urine.
But children, as a rule, do not like broths very much. They prefer fruit drinks and compotes. Pour a few tablespoons of berries with a liter of boiling water, add honey to taste, insist and give to children, as an aid for flu and colds. It is also good for treating vitamin deficiency. Actually, adults can use it, but it should be remembered that lingonberry has the ability to lower blood pressure. Therefore, if the pressure is low, it must be taken with great care. You can also use collection for colds. Chop lingonberry and strawberry bushes, pour 2 glasses of boiling water, insist for 30 minutes. Strain. Drink like tea, adding honey to taste for colds and senile enuresis.
At the end of winter, the whole family will enjoy fortified tea. For tea, take 2 tablespoons of lingonberries, 3 tablespoons of nettle leaves and 3 tablespoons of dry rose hips. Grind everything in a blender. Mix. Pour the resulting mixture with 1 liter of boiling water. Insist for a couple of hours. Drink like regular tea, adding honey to taste.
Despite the fact that lingonberry and its use have a beneficial effect in the treatment of many diseases, there are contraindications for the use of lingonberry - recalls the women's magazine JustLady. Lingonberry should not be used for stomach and duodenal ulcers. It is also necessary to consult a doctor if you have gastritis or kidney inflammation.
Lingonberry, not only healthy, but also delicious. I was convinced of this myself. I bought the berries from my grandmother. Now the whole family drinks fruit drinks and feels great. And I wish you the same thing - good health and not get sick.
