Anyone who monitors their figure and weight, when choosing products in a supermarket, must study the cherished numbers on the package - the number of calories. For some, it comes to a phobia, they even take a calculator with them, going for food, and scrupulously calculate everything. Needless to say, these people often deny themselves all sorts of goodies, and if they decide to afford something, they immediately calculate how many kilometers they will then need to rewind on an exercise bike or treadmill. This is the price of a momentary weakness. And what is actually hidden behind the indicator "Calorie content"? Even those who calculate them so carefully are hardly aware of this. Location: Location: Meanwhile, experts understand caloric content as the number of units of energy that a product releases when burned in a laboratory oven. So what happens? - those who diligently count calories, equate their stomach to the stove? And, even funnier, do they hope to lose weight or keep themselves in good shape? Anyone who knows what they are talking about grins and declares that these actions are reminiscent of people's attempts to find out their future from the horoscopes published by the weekly "Water Supply and Sewerage".

What does our body do when we go on a diet, i.e. do we limit ourselves to food for the sake of certain low-calorie foods? The body begins to remove as many calories as possible from dietary foods. In short, he will somehow take what he needs. If we are engaged in gluttony, without limiting ourselves in food consumption, the body will again act very wisely - it will begin to "encapsulate" the excess and quickly remove them (free ourselves from them), practically without taking energy (read: calories) even from the fattest and sweet food.

Someone may begin to challenge the last statement, demanding evidence. And there is this evidence! Remember the festive feasts in Russian traditions (and indeed any other) with an abundance of fatty, sweet, easily digestible dishes. Yes, if our body did not "encapsulate" the surplus and quickly remove them (mind you, not taking anything from them for yourself), all our elegant dresses and pants would crack at the seams. Nobody counted these same calories, which entered the body in one, for example, a New Year's feast? After all, this is practically a day, during which tens of thousands of notorious calories are absorbed! And if it is sacred to believe the doctrine of the influence of caloric content of foods on weight gain or loss, then where does such a huge amount of energy go? Why don't people become "koloboks" after the same endless New Year holidays? And if they gain weight,is it only about a kilogram or a little more? And why, on the contrary, in a person who is on a strict diet, then got out of it, but continues to restrict himself in food intake, weight begins to gain dramatically and soon there is no trace of any effect from his diet?

The answer to all these questions is ridiculously simple - the body itself knows and, due to this knowledge, it regulates the amount of energy that it needs to "take" from the product for normal functioning, and it simply throws away all the surplus (at the moment) (displays it as unnecessary) … And it does exactly the opposite if the incoming food is not enough. Conclusion: trust your body! Him, and not abstract and rather abstract numbers in the table of calorie content of foods. They, these numbers, may be theoretically verified and accurate, but - remember! - exclusively in relation to the laboratory stove and the fire in it, and not to the human body - a complex and unique structure.

And, finally, the most compelling argument and the most lethal argument in favor of the fact that counting calories is a useless activity is the absence of at least some (even ephemeral) linking of these very calories to the process of metabolism (metabolism) occurring in any the human body. This procedure is complex and multifaceted, it is characterized by many criteria, but if we take at least one of them - speed (namely, normal, fast and slow), it is easy to see that it is different for all people. So, one person can absorb fatty cabbage soup in pots, seize them with dozens of dumplings and wash them down with liters of cream and feel good at the same time, while another person will be puffed up by absorbing a diet portion like a driven bison, besides, very soon he will be blown apart from this minimum of food …And this is irrefutable proof of the inconsistency of the theory of calorie content, and yet it is on it that the vast majority of diets and weight loss techniques are built.
