Video: ❶ Fast Food Addiction
People tend to be as sensitive about food as a drug addict is about their dose. The cult of food is widespread practice everywhere. But if in the past, food, prepared with high quality and taste, which should have been eaten in accordance with the most complicated rules of etiquette, in the company of friends or family, became the "subject of worship" - today fast food has replaced gourmet meals. Many people who go to fast food establishments show real addiction. They go to lunch during their work break at their favorite fast food chain, in the evenings they buy dinner for the whole family there so as not to cook again. And why, since the food is so tasty and inexpensive?
Why is fast food so popular? Where does this ubiquitous addiction come from? One thing in common among fast food customers around the world is that they all love this food. They like her. People are more dependent on the food they love than any other. According to some experiments, eating habits are the most difficult for many people to give up.
But if you look at the problem from the other side, then why is fast food so bad? Initially, fast food establishments were created as places where you can eat inexpensively and quickly, while you had to fill up for the whole hard working day. Fast food chains, one of those that have been on the public catering market for a long time, were created in the first half of the 20th century for workers engaged in hard physical labor. Such people required high-calorie food. Lunch breaks were very small, it was impossible to savor your favorite dish for a long time, you had to quickly grab a couple of hamburgers on the fly - and again run to the shop.
Today, the lifestyle of the average person has changed from active to predominantly sedentary. This means that most people who eat in fast food establishments do not waste all the calories they get there. And an excess of calories leads to obesity.
Modern people no longer need such high-calorie and fatty foods, which are traditionally prepared by fast food establishments, and therefore manufacturers do everything to make their sandwiches and fries the most delicious. Some rather unnatural and refined tastes, together with bright packaging, cause, first of all, psychological dependence. Sugar and fats are more addictive than all other foods.
