Video: ❶ Head Spin: Why Do We Feel Dizzy?

Dizziness is the sensation of rotation of the body or surrounding objects. This condition can occur under the influence of certain factors or be a symptom of certain diseases. Location: Location: “Head around” - this is how people who experience strong emotional excitement describe their condition. Speaking in public or unexpected news can cause a strong adrenaline rush and a sharp short-term vasoconstriction of the brain. Hypoxia of cerebellar structures, i.e. the cerebral center of balance, causes the illusion of rotation of the body or objects in space.
Riding a merry-go-round or a strong roll at sea causes not only such sensations, but is also often accompanied by nausea or vomiting. In such cases, they say that the person is "seasick." The reason for this is a false perception of reality by the brain, when there is a layering of rapidly moving objects. A person can experience the same feeling when he looks into the distance for a long time, and then abruptly shifts his gaze to nearby objects.
In women, one of the most common causes of dizziness is glucose deficiency due to dietary addiction, as well as iron deficiency for the same reason or in connection with heavy menstruation. Therefore, the easiest way to find out about the true cause of the ailment is to take blood tests.
Such factors can be the cause of the so-called "physiological" dizziness, i.e. not associated with any disease. But there are a number of pathologies in which this symptom is an alarming symptom that forces one to seek medical help.
The main peripheral organ responsible for balance is the inner ear. The complex system of the smallest details of this organ reacts to any turn of the head. Information about this in the form of signals is transmitted to the center of equilibrium of the brain, where it is summed up with data received from other senses. Impaired transmission of these signals is accompanied by dizziness. Often it occurs due to vestibular neuritis. And if accompanied by tinnitus and hearing loss, nausea and vomiting, then, most likely, the cause of this was Meniere's syndrome.
Similar symptoms, which appear only on one side and are accompanied by headaches that intensify in certain positions of the body, may be due to tumor formations in the brain.
If the head is spinning simultaneously with sudden disorders of visual function, such as double vision, and is also combined with weakness, disorders of sensitivity and coordination, then the cause of this condition is an acute disturbance of cerebral circulation. Such symptoms can occur with a sharp "jump" in pressure with arterial hypertension.
Diseases of the spine, cervical osteochondrosis or the consequences of trauma, cause compression of the vertebral arteries and circulatory disorders of the brain, which are accompanied by dizziness. In addition to this sign, with this pathology, patients are worried about pain in the neck area, and taking medications, for example, tranquilizers or sleeping pills, can become a provoking factor.
If you are worried about dizziness, not associated with riding on a swing or emotional "shaking", this is a serious reason to seek qualified medical help.
