True symptoms of chickenpox

The filterable chickenpox virus is transmitted at such an enviable rate that it cannot be avoided. Moreover, the infection does not always occur by the usual airborne droplets. Sometimes it is enough to stay close to the infected person in order to face the first symptoms of chickenpox within a few weeks. Location: Location: The contagious chickenpox disease is more common in childhood. However, adults are not immune from it, and the causative agent of this disease can cause not only chickenpox, but also shingles - an equally unpleasant disease.

From the moment of infection with chickenpox until the first symptoms appear, it can take from 2 to 3 weeks. This is the so-called latent, or incubation period of the disease, during which the virus actively multiplies. Soon, a protective reaction of the body begins to its presence, which manifests itself in a number of signs.

The first symptom of chickenpox is fever and malaise. After 2-3 days, and sometimes immediately, a rash begins to appear all over the body. In some cases, it first covers the scalp and face and only after a day it spreads to the body, arms, legs and mucous membranes.

It is possible to distinguish rashes with chickenpox from other skin diseases by their characteristic appearance. The protruding red spots that appear on the skin turn into bubbles with transparent contents within a few hours. After 1-2 days, they dry out and form crusts. This causes constant mild itching of the skin.

Chickenpox rash appears in waves and each time is accompanied by an increase in temperature and malaise. New rashes dry up, and others reappear nearby. Because of this, spots, crusts and bubbles are simultaneously present on the body. During the entire period of the disease, 3-4 waves are observed.

Chickenpox in adults is much more severe than in children. In addition to poor general health, the skin also suffers. Its cellular metabolism is not as fast as before, which is why small scars may remain after the rash, especially if the rash was not treated in time or was scratched.

The duration of chickenpox depends on immunity. The more weakened the body, the greater the likelihood of the infection in a complicated form. Therefore, at the first suspicion, it is necessary to call a doctor at home and then follow all his prescriptions.
