The side somersault has several options. The standard somersault is a sideways flip over the head in a tuck. Arabian somersault - the same somersault, but with a small tuck. The technique of execution has two varieties. In the first variation, the side somersault is obtained from a forward somersault with the addition of a 90 degree turn and a side rotation. Another variation is performed after a round or flask as a back somersault with the addition of a 90-degree turn followed by a lateral rotation. Location: Location: To learn how to do side flips, sign up for an acrobatic section. Success is assured under the guidance of an experienced and competent coach. Plus, you won't break your neck there. If for some reason the acrobatic section is impossible, learn somersaults yourself on the mats. And work on the street,as soon as the elements start to come out.

Start a side somersault with a push of one leg and a swing of the other, or a push of both legs. To do this, run up and at the end of the run, make a jump. Simultaneously with the jump, pull the hand of the same direction of rotation back, and pull the other forward. As soon as you push off, start moving your front hand down and back, and your back hand forward.

Try to fly as high as possible. This will allow you to land on slightly bent legs. Before you start learning somersaults, determine for yourself: in which direction it is most convenient to do it. Usually a side somersault is done in the same direction in which the wheel is used to doing.

Start a somersault with your face and chest forward in the direction of travel. Turn to the right by moving the right leg and hand back-up, and with the left shoulder down. Make sure that the turn was made only after the end of the leg swing. Turn to the left in the same way in the mirror version.

Before pushing off, place your left foot on the floor with your heel and roll onto your toes. A strong jump will be more difficult, but it will be longer, the swing with the right leg will be fuller, the step before take off will be wider. A wide stride is necessary for an earlier swing of the right leg.

Finish the swing with your right leg by slightly bending it at the knee, which will help strengthen the moment of impulse that began with this swing. At the same time, you can group early and make this swing even faster. But don't bend your leg prematurely - that's a mistake.

Grouping early will allow you to roll over faster. But do not try to do it too early. After lifting off the floor, finish tucking with a swinging motion of your left hand. Leave your right hand in place and when the leg is close to it, grab the leg with your hand. In a tuck, pull your right leg in the direction of rotation and try to put it on the floor early. Stretch your left shoulder towards your left leg. But don't get too tight a grouping.

When completing somersaults, consistently straighten your legs. First, the swing leg, and as you move forward, the jerk. To better navigate in space while performing a somersault, try to first look forward as long as possible, and then move your gaze to the floor. By the way, turning the head too early can be the reason for the failure to perform somersaults.

As leading exercises for side somersaults, the following are recommended: side rolls in a narrow and wide grouping, a wheel from a standstill, a jump wheel, a wheel with a run several times in a row, a jump wheel in conjunction with forward rolls, a wheel from a height, a jump wheel with a support about an elevation floor.

Concentrate special attention on the landing. Errors with it can result in knee injuries. To practice the landing, lie down on your back on the edge of a hill, group up as you do a somersault and slide off the cliff. It is obligatory to use mats!
